About the role: 

We’re looking for a Senior Procurement Advisor to join our growing Strategic Procurement team within the Strategy and Finance Group on an 18-month fixed term contract, with the potential to extend.   

In this role you will: 

  • Provide strategic procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders within your portfolio, in relation to all matters of procurement and contract management.  
  • Execute on procurement strategies aligned with and in support of WorkCover Queensland’s strategic objectives and business plans. More specifically, delivering strategic and operational solutions in the following areas: Sourcing, Supplier onboarding, contracting & Contract Lifecycle Management, Supplier relationship Management, Procurement Systems, Tools and Documentation-Policy, Guides and Templates.  
  • Contribute to the Strategic Procurement team application of the State Procurement Policy, including developing Significant Procurement Plans and Strategic Advice of sourcing activities, including tenders.  
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop innovative procurement and category management strategies to meet business needs, manage risk and deliver value for money. 
  • Prepare tender documentation, commercial evaluations, negotiation plans and contract approval to award documentation including managing the internal review, endorsement, and approvals processes. 

 

A bit about you: 

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement advice, planning, governance, and reporting in a complex organisation including an understanding of relevant policies, processes, and systems. 
  • Demonstrated high level decision making, negotiation and influencing skills. 
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement policies, practices, procedures, and guidelines plus knowledge of contemporary and emerging trends in purchasing and contracting 
  • Proven skills to conduct negotiations on contractual and legal terms and conditions with suppliers.
