About the Role

As an IT Senior Network and Security Administrator within the Service Operations team of our Digital and Technology Group, you’ll ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of WorkCover’s IT network covering on-premise and cloud environments.  This role presents an opportunity to dive into technical projects across production and development areas, bringing your network and security expertise to the forefront. You’ll engage in cloud development and migration projects, with support and training in transitioning from traditional on-premise systems to cloud-based routing solutions. Playing a key role in shaping our infrastructure, you’ll contribute at a senior level and lead technical projects when needed. In our collaborative setting, this role will see you excel at building trust, breaking down silos, and nurturing constructive peer relationships.  

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll contribute to: 

• Designing, implementing and managing our network infrastructure, ensuring system reliability and compliance with industry standards.  
• Performing network maintenance, performance optimisation, troubleshooting and developing and maintaining security policies. 
• Conducting regular security assessments, monitor network traffic, and respond to security breaches. 
• Collaborating with team members, document configurations and support infrastructure and security initiatives.   

A bit about you: 

• Experience in managing IT infrastructure within government or similarly sized organisations, particularly following change management and ITIL frameworks. 
• Robust background in senior network administration and security, with at least five years of experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS. 
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security or CEH, they will have a proven track record of managing complex network and security landscapes 
• Exceptional communication skills will enable them to simplify complex technical information for diverse stakeholders and influence impactful decision-making.
